Camaro Engine Swap

Asked by SploosH FadEd Dec 14, 2018 at 11:05 AM about the 1991 Chevrolet Camaro

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My friend says he has a 1992 Camaro with a LT1 in it and he said I can put it in
my 1991 Camaro. I just wanna make sure that the motor will fit without having
to put in new motor mounts.

You don't say what engine you have so I cannot say for sure. What is the big deal about buying a couple of motor mounts? You could use the old ones from his engine but I would buy new ones.

F_O_R my car has a 305 in it. And if i had to buy motor mounts would they be bolt on or weld? Also im not 100% sure that my friend is sure its an LT1, it might just be a 350.

It's usually good practice to swap those old crusty mounts out anyhow. 350s and 305s use the same motor mounts, they're bolted in.
