this time I suggest that you check the voltage at your battery...you want 12.5 Volts...get a NEW battery...you could use that...BUY brand new cables...Clean the connections to the motor and to the chassis...and to the starter solenoid when you install these...that there will fix your problem~

It won't start up set up for a while

It has not been driven in a long time

if the distributor is not turning, the timing chain is snapped...change that...be sure to do the headgasket as part of the procedure~ this will give you a new oil pump new presser foot for the tensioner found it odd that used be plastic now it's metal...this tensioner...they change things to make them better~ after 170,000 the second chain is beginning to show nastiness on deceleration...still I'd drive it 2500 miles....trust the toyotas~

so confused...72 nova is a different critter...the motor's size? anyways clean the connections to the solenoid...and starter~ do that and we can check the compression~

one might check power at the ignition switch...the possibility someone "reversed jumped" and threw the key starter out of business is a possibility...should be a "fuse link" on the 72 is on the Red cable....now is a convenient fuse (on toyotas etc) so be sure this fuseable link is intact~
