The transmission repair business is full of rip off scams. First and most importantly check out their reputation from people who should know. In my area I deal with ONE trans guy. He is one of the best and he stands behind his work. He has actually made cheap repairs instead of the usual " oh we dropped it and checked it out ,needs a complete rebuild".
