Not sure if your El Camino is the same but I've had and seen many K5 blazer's and trucks 80's till 94ish where the wiper motor itself has a "stopping point" sensor that fails so the wipers dont know where to stop. Turning the vehicle off or pulling the fuse stops them, occasionally they will stop in a random position. I've had the switch OUT of the vehicle and the wipers stayed on with this problem.
My buddy had this problem and we figured out is just a diffective fuse
the motor seems to work good,,could it be a defective switch,or what else
