No spark- 1983 El Camino 305

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1500 miles on engine. Ran fine until it kept dying when you put it into gear. Now it won't start. New Ignition Module, New rotor, New coil, New Distributor cap. Still no spark....ughhhhhh

Didn't Chevy go to HEI around 1975? No points.

Thank you guys for both your answers. Correct there are no points on this distributor, and I have no power coming to the red wire on the distributor. That leaves the wiring to the ignition I think,? and the ignition itself which I know nothing about.

Not sure about wire colors but if your ignition switch is defective you will never get spark.
